College Spotlight: San Jose State University (San Jose, CA)
When one thinks of an urban campus, they typically think of skyscrapers, noise, and distraction. The city of San Jose is not your typical urban city. While San Jose State University is located in downtown San Jose, it is easy to get around, safe, clean, and has an older, quaint city feel. 
+ Oldest California State University campus.
+ Known for engineering, digital media, and computer science academic programs. After all, you’re right in Silicon Valley! Graduates have gone onto work for major tech companies in computers, software, mobile devices, and gaming.
+ A very diverse campus full of Hispanic, African Americans, and Asian students. 
+ One of the top schools in the CSU system for science. The school has partnerships with NASA, Cisco, and Moffet field. 
+ Average High School GPA of an incoming Freshman: 3.21
+ Average SAT score of an incoming Freshman: 1005
+ Labeled as “IT School to Watch” by Computerworld
+ Muse - First year experience program for incoming Freshman.
+ Plenty of institutional based scholarships for students attending SJSU. 
+ There’s a ton to do in downtown San Jose. The light rail can take you to Japantown, Winchester Mystery House, and Six Flags Great America. There are also theatres and cineplexes within walking distance from SJSU.
